Kennedy Ann

Lindsay had her baby on July 30. She's the girl you would love to hate - first baby, 11 days early, left the house at 8:15 am and delivered at 10:15 am, with no drugs might I add - and we still love her. The three of us went over for a visit once they were home. Mom and baby (and dad too) are doing well and we really enjoyed our visit. Zoe loved holding Kennedy and was oh so gentle with her. Rich enjoyed the visit too and toted her all around even though in this picture he looks irritated - it's the photo op and not the baby that has him looking this way. If you want to see more of Lindsay & Jason's baby girl, check out the photos on her blog - isn't she cute???

Rich and His "Chopper"

Rich decided to buy a scooter to drive to and from work. When he brought it home, Zoe was very worried that he did not yet have a helmet so she offered up hers. He now has his very own helmet (that is not pink) and is enjoying the ride.

Nashville Trip

We took a short trip to Nashville to visit my friend Angela and her wonderful family. She has 3 beautiful children, Emily (almost 8), Avery (just turned 5), and Brady (just turned 1). The girls had a blast together and Brady just slept and ate! It was so great visiting with them. Here are some pics of the girls (Brady was sleeping, of course).

In true Southern girl fashion, they decided to teach Zoe some cheerleading moves.

Fourth of July

I know the holiday was a month ago, but better late than never. Here are some pics from our annual pilgrimage to the parade.

Dance Recital

The last month has been consumed with preparing for Zoe's first ever dance recital. Who knew it would be such an ordeal at this age??? She has actually been in "class" one night a week since September, but the week leading up the main event (two nights of performances) consisted of picture day at the studio then two dress rehearsal nights at the theater in downtown. Each of these five glorious days and nights, she had to be dressed, make-up on, and hair done. Even though it made for a rough week, she truly had a wonderful time and not only loved being on the stage but really enjoyed watching all of the performances - amazing for a kid that does not sit still. I'm going to post several photos chronicling this historic occasion and as I receive more photos from other moms (my camera is on its way to becoming a toy for Zoe so I actually don't have many - hint to my husband for the next gift-giving occasion), more will be posted. She was awfully darn cute, so why not?!

PHOTO DAY

Girls will be girls...

Getting ready for the show to start (sorry it's the only one I have from the actual performance night for now)...

Helping Daddy Plant Flowers

Today was a beatiful day and Zoe helped daddy plant some flowers in the front of the house. She even found a couple of worms and picked them up. She immediately threw them across the yard because they were "squishy," though. She absolutely loves playing in the dirt and definitely takes after daddy when it comes to the outdoors.

Knife Fight

OK, not really, but this is the result of her and her friend playing a little too rough. It was actually the exposed metal on the edge of a container that got her and not her friend.
