Here I am making mass updates - again! On November 19, Zoe had her eye surgery. She has strabismus which basically means her eyes cross because her brain and her eye muscles don't work together especially when focusing on objects close to her. So, they snipped two muscles in each eye then reattached them at the center of the eyeball. Now we just have to sit back and hope that the brain takes over and controls her eye and holds it straight. We won't know for awhile if it was a success (there is a 15% chance we'll have to do the surgery again) but for now she seems to be keeping them straighter (although she's a bit stubborn and doesn't use her bifocal like she's supposed to, but that's another issue). It was rough the first couple of days post-op, but she bounced back very quickly. The surgery was on Thursday and she was back to school on Monday although her eyes were still very red for about 10 days. As I downloaded pictures tonight, I found this one taken 2 days after the surgery - I had no idea this was taken - the redness was concentrated to the inner corners.
